David L. Blasi, CPA, CFP
David’s business career has spanned over 25 years. Prior to joining Jeff in 2004 to form the accounting firm of Shaw & Blasi LLP, David functioned in a variety of financial management positions. He served as an audit manager at the Big Four accounting firm of KPMG, as corporate controller for two publicly traded companies, and as CFO of a small physician group. He currently assists both individuals and small businesses in their tax and accounting needs.
David is a CPA and a Certified Financial Planner. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a B.S. in Business Administration and completed the Financial Planning Program at Florida State University.
A native of the mid-west, David currently resides in Seal Beach with his wife, Nancy, and two pre-teen daughters. He is active in local community organizations and has held Board positions in Run Seal Beach (annual 10k race) and the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce. Most importantly, David enjoys encouraging his kids in their academic and sports activities.
Jeffrey L. Shaw, CPA Retired
Following a six-year academic career in behavioral research, Jeff’s business career now exceeds 30 years. In addition to public accounting, he has worked as a Systems Analyst, Controller, and Chief Financial Officer. He currently focuses on tax and estate planning, retirement planning, and small business consulting.
Jeff graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley and earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the CHE Global Network and Chief Financial Officer of the international charity Better Lives which seeks solutions to poverty that are holistic and sustainable so that children may grow up healthy, educated, and trained to earn an income.
The son of a CPA, Jeff lives in Seal Beach with his wife Laurie; college graduate kids Micah and Ashley have left the nest empty and happy. He realizes that personal finance pales in comparison to personal relationships in complexity, risk and reward.
